As an Admin or Instructor, can I change the designated Collaborate Producer after creating the SAFe virtual activities?

No, the Collaborate Producer cannot be changed once the virtual activities have been added to a SAFe class.

As an Admin or Instructor, what happens if I created the start time in the wrong timezone?

You can change the timezone for your class at any time.

As an Admin or Instructor, can I update the Instructor notes after the classroom has been created?

Yes, you can update the instructor notes at any time.

As an Admin or Instructor, can I modify an activity to be a whole-class activity or vice versa?

No, you cannot alter activities to be delivered another way. But, if you’d like to run a group-based activity as a whole class, we recommend having everyone use Group 1’s activity to collaborate as a class.

As an instructor, can I change the number of groups I have added to my class?

You can increase the number of groups at any time, but you cannot decrease the number of groups. If you have created too many groups, you should let your learners know that they should ignore them or recreate the class.

As an Instructor, can I add or remove students to the class after adding SAFe virtual activities?

​​​​Yes, you can add or remove students to your class at any time. By rostering them to your class, they will get access to the class page and virtual activities for the class.

As an Instructor, can I move students to a different group after they have been assigned to a table?

Yes, you can move students to another group at any time. Students can also access any group at any time, so you do not need to reassign them for them to join a new group.

As an Instructor, can I add or remove activity templates in my SAFe virtual activities after the class has been created?

To add an activity to an existing Virtual Classroom, click the 'Event Info' link, From there, you can navigate to the activities tab and click the green plus sign. This will bring up a pop-up where you can search available templates and select the one you would like to add.

As an Instructor, when should I send out class welcome emails to my students?

You can send out class welcome emails whenever you’d like, and we recommend sending them one week ahead of time. You should also consider sending subsequent welcome emails to remind students as the class date approaches.

As an Instructor, how can I best plan for students that do not register for Collaborate before the first day of class?

There is no need to worry about a student joining Collaborate after the start of class. You can let them know which group to join, and they can simply join that group to participate in group activities.

​​​​​​What should I do if my learners can’t join an activity and only can view the results?

If learners can only view the results of an activity and not join the activity, look to see if the Collaborate Producer has a “restart forum” icon on the activity. This will reopen access to the activity and will not erase any items already on the activity.

How can I import items into SAFe virtual activities?

The Collaborate Producer can import items into a SAFe virtual activity, like the PI Planning simulation.

Why is a lesson not showing in the virtual classroom?

Some lessons, such as Lesson 1 or the last lesson of a course, do not have activities that use Collaborate. Thus those lessons do not appear in Collaborate.
