Q: What is Learning Management?
A: Learning Management is a new section of the SAFe Community Platform available to SAFe Enterprise Subscription Admins. In this section, SAFe Enterprise Admins can assign online learning series like SAFe Jumpstart to learners on their subscription. They can also monitor the learners’ progress through the learning plan and acquiring the achievement. Additionally, admins can assign SPCs to Trainer Enablement plans and grant access to courseware to validated SPCs.
Q: Where do I access the Learning Management section?
A: The Learning Management section is located in the Course Admin section under the Teach tab.
Q: How do I assign learners to a learning plan?
A: There are two ways to assign a learner to the online learning series. First, you can find them in the list of learners on the subscription, click the box next to their name, and click the “Assign to Selected” button. Alternatively, admins can upload a list of learners to the online learning series. This will add the learner to the subscription and assign them the online learning series.
For Trainer Enablement plans, admins can search through the list of SPCs on the subscription and click the box next to their name. Then, they can click the “Assign to Selected” button to assign a Trainer Enablement plan to an SPC.
Q: How do I monitor a learner’s progress towards acquiring the Achievement/Validation?
A: Within each learning plan, there are columns that show the learners’ progress through the learning plan or Trainer Enablement plan and columns that show the status of the learners’ achievement or validation. Please note, a learning plan does not need to be at 100% or complete for the achievement or validation to be acquired, as there are non-required pieces of the learning plan that learners can choose to skip and still be eligible to acquire their achievement or validation.
Q: How do I download a report of learner progress?
A: For each online learning series, there is a Download List button that can be selected to download a report of all the data available in that table for every learner.
Q: What’s included in the downloaded report?
A: Every column that appears in the SAFe Community Platform will also appear on the downloaded report.
Q: Does a learner need to consume a license for me to assign them to a learning plan?
A: Yes, learners must be on the subscription to assign them to the online learning series learning plans. This means they will consume a license. SPCs also need to be on the subscription; however, they do not consume a license when added to the subscription.
Q: How do I grant SPCs access to courseware?
A: Once an SPC is validated to teach a course, the toggle button next to their name will become active. Simply toggle that button to on to grant access to the courseware. You will receive a notification that that action was successful. The SPC can then access the courseware from the My Courseware section of the SAFe Community Platform.
Q: How do I remove access to courseware from an SPC?
A: Simply toggle the button off to remove access to the courseware. Additionally, if the SPC leaves the Enterprise and is removed from the subscription, the courseware will automatically be removed from their profile.
