Q. What is SAFe Jumpstart?
A. SAFe Jumpstart is a self-paced online course that teaches the foundations of Lean, Agile, and SAFe in about an hour. It introduces how Agile Teams and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) plan and deliver work.
Q. Who should take SAFe Jumpstart?
A. SAFe Jumpstart is designed for people joining an organization that uses SAFe, especially those with little or no experience with Lean, Agile, Scrum, or SAFe. People who work alongside an ART without being on one also benefit.
Q. Are there prerequisites?
A. No. SAFe Jumpstart has no prerequisites.
Q. What will I learn?
A. After completing SAFe Jumpstart, you'll be able to:
Explain what Agile is and how SAFe helps organizations achieve better business outcomes
Describe the roles on an Agile Team and the methods teams use to track and manage work
Break an Epic down into Features and Stories, and describe how the PI roadmap and PI Planning shape work
Explain how your team fits into an ART, including ART events and measures of competency, flow, and outcomes
Q. Is SAFe Jumpstart a certification course?
A. No. SAFe Jumpstart builds foundational knowledge and earns a digital badge, without an exam or certification. To become certified, take a role-based course such as SAFe for Teams. Link: Which course is right for you
Q. Does SAFe Jumpstart cover AI-Native SAFe?
A. No. SAFe Jumpstart covers Core SAFe.
Access and enrollment
Q. Who can access SAFe Jumpstart?
A. SAFe Jumpstart is included for SAFe Enterprise Subscription (SES) learners, SAFe Insider members, and SAFe Partners at no additional cost.
Q. How do I enroll?
A. In SAFe Studio, open the Getting Started page and select Get Started in the SAFe Jumpstart section. Your SES admin may also assign the course to you, in which case it appears in Learning Plans & Exams.
Q. Where do I find the course after I enroll?
A. Go to Learning Plans & Exams in SAFe Studio. Courses you haven't opened yet appear under Not Started.
Q. What languages is SAFe Jumpstart available in?
A. SAFe Jumpstart is available in English, and translated versions will be added as they're released.
Taking the course
Q. How long does SAFe Jumpstart take?
A. Most learners finish in about an hour. The course has four lessons, and you can complete it in one sitting or across several.
Q. What happens if I leave partway through?
A. Your progress saves automatically. When you return, the course opens where you left off.
Q. Can I move around the course?
A. Yes. Use the sidebar to jump to any lesson and review content at any time. You can also switch to full-screen mode and choose a Light, Dark, or System theme.
Q. How do the knowledge checks work?
A. Each lesson ends with a short knowledge check. After you submit, you'll see which answers were correct, and you can retake a knowledge check as many times as you need. To complete the course, view every page and score 80% or higher on all four knowledge checks.
Completion and badge
Q. What do I earn for completing SAFe Jumpstart?
A. You earn the Ready for SAFe digital badge, which you can share on LinkedIn, in your email signature, or anywhere that displays digital badges.
Q. How do I claim my Ready for SAFe badge?
A. First, opt in to digital badges in your SAFe Studio profile. After you complete the course, you'll receive an email from Credly asking you to claim your badge.
Q. Does the badge expire?
A. No. The Ready for SAFe badge doesn't expire or require renewal.
Q. What should I do after SAFe Jumpstart?

Q. How is the new SAFe Jumpstart different from SAFe Jumpstart 6.0?
A. The new version covers SAFe foundations in about an hour, compared with several hours for SAFe Jumpstart 6.0. It runs as one continuous course with four lessons, a knowledge check after each lesson, and automatic progress saving. Both versions earn the Ready for SAFe badge.
Q. I'm enrolled in SAFe Jumpstart 6.0. Do I keep access?
A. Yes. SAFe Jumpstart 6.0 stays in Learning Plans & Exams, and you can finish it at any time.
Q. Can I switch to the new version?
A. Yes. Enroll in the new version from the Getting Started page in SAFe Studio.
Q. If I already earned the Ready for SAFe badge, should I take the new version?
A. You don't need to. The new version issues the same badge, so completing it won't add a second badge to your Credly profile.
For SES admins
Q. How do I assign SAFe Jumpstart to my learners?
A. In SAFe Studio, open Learning Management in your SES admin dashboard and assign SAFe Jumpstart. Link: SES Learning Management
Q. What happens to learners I already assigned to SAFe Jumpstart 6.0?
A. They keep their access and progress. Each learner can finish SAFe Jumpstart 6.0 or enroll in the new version.
Q. Can I still assign SAFe Jumpstart 6.0?
A. The new version replaces SAFe Jumpstart 6.0 in your assignment list.
