What is a proctored exam?
A proctored exam is an exam that is supervised by a live proctor, who verifies the student's identity and monitors them to ensure they are following the rules and not engaging in academic misconduct. We use proctored exams to maintain the integrity and credibility of the certification by ensuring that students are being assessed fairly and based on their own knowledge.
Are proctored exams on demand?
Proctored exams require a scheduled appointment with a live proctor. Appointment availability may vary, and purchasing an exam does not guarantee same-day access or immediate testing. Learners should plan ahead and schedule their exam based on available appointment times.
What is the cost of the Exam?
The Proctored exam fee is $495 plus tax. Two attempts are included with this fee. If both attempts are unsuccessful and you wish to retake the exam, a new Proctored Exam purchase is required at the current fee of $495 USD plus applicable taxes.
How do I purchase and schedule a proctored exam?
Purchase the Proctored Exam
Navigate to the Course Certification page and select Purchase Proctored Exam.
Sign in to SAFe Studio (or create a profile if you are a new user).
Complete your purchase ($495 USD + applicable taxes).
Your purchase includes:
Two exam attempts within a 60-day window.
A welcome email with exam access instructions, resources, and FAQs.
Access Your Exam
In SAFe Studio, navigate to Learning Plans & Exams.
Select the Not Started tab.
Open your Proctored Exam Learning Plan.
Schedule Your Appointment
From the Learning Plan, click Launch and then Manage Booking.
Select an available appointment date and time with a live proctor.
Complete any required system checks before your appointment.
Important: Purchasing a Proctored Exam does not provide immediate access to take the exam or guarantee same-day testing. Proctored exams require a scheduled appointment with a live proctor, and appointment availability may vary. Learners should schedule their exam in advance.
“Manage Booking” takes you out of SAFe Studio to book your appointment
Click “Booking Appointment” and choose an available appointment date and time with a live proctor. (Appointment availability varies based on demand, region, and testing capacity.)
Complete the required system checks and preparation steps before your scheduled session.
Prepare for the Exam
Before the appointment, learners must:
Download the Guardian Browser.
Complete the equipment check.
Verify webcam, microphone, and internet connectivity.
Prepare a private testing space.
Review testing requirements and prohibited items.
Launch the Exam
At the scheduled appointment time:
Open the Guardian Browser.
Connect to the live proctor.
Complete the identity verification and room scan process.
Begin the exam once the proctor approves the testing environment.
What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule my exam?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your exam appointment, please do so as early as possible.
We strongly recommend cancelling or rescheduling at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time.
Why is the 24-hour cancellation window important?
If an exam session is cancelled 24 hours or more before the scheduled appointment, the session is not billed.
If the cancellation occurs less than 24 hours before the appointment time, the session is billed regardless of attendance.
Can I still cancel within 24 hours?
Yes, the platform does allow cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. However, late cancellations may still incur charges and may affect eligibility for resets or exceptions.
What happens if I miss my appointment or experience a technical issue?
