How are licenses consumed?

When you upload a course roster, a license will be consumed for each student uploaded. A license will be consumed regardless of whether or not a student is marked as attended/unattended. If you need to make edits to the roster or remove a student from the course, you may do so as long as the student is still marked as unattended. Licenses can be restored by deleting the student from the roster prior to marking them as attended, so if you have marked a student as attended, and they did not attend the course, a license will still have been consumed.
