GENERAL
I want to fill out a permission request form to use SAFe content. Where can I find this form?
We make a lot of SAFe® content publicly available, but that does not mean everyone has the right to use it for any purpose. All SAFe content is protected by US and international copyright laws and can be used only as the copyright holder, Scaled Agile, Inc., decides.
When in doubt, fill it out! If you want to use SAFe® content, such as text or graphics, first review the FAQs. If they do not answer your question, then submit a Permission Request Form and explain what you would like to use the content for in detail.
What kind of conditions do I have to follow if I am granted permission to use SAFe content?
A permission grant typically requires that you meet the following conditions:
SAFe® content may not be used to create other training or services, or anything that competes with a Scaled Agile, Inc. offering or service. SAFe content, graphics, and trademarks may be used only in connection with Scaled Agile’s SAFe services, training, and courses.
SAFe graphics may not be modified, including the template, format, font, color, graphics, and text.
A copyright embedded in SAFe graphics must be maintained and not obscured.
The following copyright notice must be included on any reproduction of SAFe content: © Scaled Agile, Inc.
The ® trademark symbol in superscript font must be inserted after “SAFe” and “Scaled Agile Framework,” in headings or where first used in body content.
The following attribution must be included: SAFe and Scaled Agile Framework are registered trademarks of Scaled Agile, Inc.
A hyperlink to the original work on the SAFe website, which is continually revised and updated, must be included.
Do I need permission to use SAFe content from outside sources such as a public event?

Can I cite or use SAFe content in publications such as a book, article, research paper, or blog
Yes, upon request we permit SAFe® content and graphics to be used in those types of publications and under certain conditions. We liberally allow the use of SAFe for academic purposes, such as for a class presentation, paper, or thesis.
When can I use the words SAFe® and Scaled Agile Framework®?

You may not use those trademarks in the title of or to describe any other materials or services. You may not use the design marks or logos without permission.

Submit a Permissions Form (found at the top of this page) that includes an illustration of your additions or to get more information on the types of additions that are likely to be permitted.
Can I use the Scaled Agile, Inc. logo?
No, we cannot permit others to use our company name or company logo, because such use could imply that others’ products or services have a special affiliation with or endorsement by Scaled Agile. We allow the use of our company logo, upon request, only where we sponsor an event or presentation.
Can I use a SAFe logo or design mark to show my support of SAFe?
Most probably, but you must obtain our prior written permission by submitting a Permissions Form (found at the top of this page) explaining the purpose. We can also provide graphics files in various formats.
Learners who become certified will gain access to a certification kit and usage guide with instructions for acceptable use for the cert mark (similar to a digital badge). This kit is "unlocked" after you pass your exam, and can be found at the bottom of your learning plan.
Can I translate the SAFe Big Picture, other SAFe graphics, or courseware?
No, SAFe is so dynamic that it is impossible to keep translations of the Big Picture, its underlying content, and all of the SAFe courseware and training content current. We provide many translated versions of the SAFe glossary, and we encourage articles or blogs in other languages that include links to the SAFe website. We are also currently in the process of translating our courseware and exams into many different languages.
Do I need to submit a request to use the “Introducing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)" presentation?
No, you do not need to submit a permission request to use “Introducing the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®),” if it is for promotional or informational purposes and does not compete with anything offered by or for Scaled Agile, Inc. or its Partners. Yes, the permissions system creates a record for you and for us, which includes the nature and scope of the permission grant or denial.
