Is there an upgrade path from Version 5, to 6.0?
Yes, there is! You can locate it here: https://community.scaledagile.com/s/upgrade6

If you have an active SPC or SPCT certification, you will receive the SAFe 6.0 Expert Upgrade Learning Plan that will upgrade all valid certifications when completed and the quiz is passed.

If you have any other certifications, you will receive the SAFe 6.0 Upgrade that will upgrade all of your valid certifications when completed (there is only the SAFe 6.0 Expert Upgrade Quiz).

​*NOTE: Currently, Agile Software Engineer and SAFe for Government are not planned to receive an upgrade to Version 6 and, as such, will not award a Version 6 Certificate for those courses when the upgrade is complete.

​Is there a cost associated with upgrading to SAFe 6.0?
The SAFe 6.0 Upgrade is included at no additional cost, with every valid SAFe membership.

​If I upgrade to SAFe 6.0, do I still get to keep my SAFe 5 certifications?
Yes! Your SAFe 5 certifications will remain valid, and in good standing, and the Upgrade will award you brand-new SAFe 6 Certifications.

​As an SPCT or SPC, does upgrading to SAFe 6.0 upgrade all of my active certifications?
Yes. Completing the SAFe 6.0 Expert Upgrade Learning Plan and quiz will upgrade your SPC(T) and all other existing certifications you hold.

​About how much time does the Expert Upgrade take to complete?

Completing the Expert Upgrade should take approximately two hours, including the Upgrade Quiz. Reading the articles associated with SAFe 6.0 will take longer and is not associated with the time found within the learning plan.

Completing the Upgrade should take approximately 70 minutes. Reading the articles associated with SAFe 6.0 will take longer and is not associated with the time found within the learning plan.

​What are the details of the SAFe 6.0 Expert Upgrade Quiz?

The SAFe 6.0 Expert Upgrade Quiz is comprised of 20 questions, with a 45-minute time limit. You can take the exam as many times as you need to until you pass with the required 100% score.

​Does upgrading my SAFe 5 certification to SAFe 6.0 change my certification expiration date?
No. Both the SAFe 5 and SAFe 6.0 certifications will share the same expiration date as the SAFe 5 certification after upgrading.

​How do I upgrade to 6.0 if I have an older certification?

For SAFe 5 certifications, all that needs to be done is the SAFe 6.0 Upgrade (or SAFe 6.0 Expert Upgrade for SPC(T) certifications).

If your certification is Version 4, you will have two options.

If your certification is Version 3 or older, you will need to take a SAFe 6.0 course and pass the associated exam.

​Can I upgrade from a SAFe 4 certification to SAFe 6.0?
Yes you can! You will first need to complete the SAFe 5.0 Upgrade to upgrade your version 4 certification(s) to version 5.0. After that you will need to complete the SAFe 6.0 Upgrade (or Expert Upgrade if you have an SPC certification) to upgrade to 6.0.

​How many Attempts do I get to upgrade to Version 5?
You will have two free attempts to take and pass the upgrade exam.

If an additional attempt / third attempt is required, the standard exam retake fee will apply.
